I'd be happy to show you the areas I know.
There's alot of the river section I've not been to, but hear it's shallow with sand bars and boulders. A place to be careful in for sure.

Ive been fishing striper here for the last 5 or so years around this time and into June. Its kind of a hidden fishery that no one talks about. Good results, but tons of small fish.
If you want to join me one day, be glad to do an afternoon trip with ya during the week soon....and youll see how to navigate around all the sandbars across the entire lake.
I agree with you pete. Lots of fish but small it is. When cat fishing we normally catch some 8 to 12 lb blues and a lot of smaller channel cats. CWright, as far as hickory goes I've caught a couple blues out of that lake, but most of the cats are flats and channels.
Hi Pete, Thanks for the offer. Love to take you up on it, but not sure when I can do it. Will let you know. Picking up a new boat tomorrow. Went to a Carolina skiff 218 dlv. Getting items to set it up for those Hickory stripers now. Hooksetter, All I can seem to catch are flatheads. Nice ones. Last time we had one over 20 and one over 25, but I do love the blues. I heard that you could go to 321 bridge and do great with the channels. Probably try that soon. We usually fish other end of Hickory towards the dam.
Most of the blues I have caught have been around the areas that you striper fish. We use to wear the channels out around the 321 bridge. Congrats on the boat btw. I need to get up with you and go out sometime.
Anytime. I will pm you my cell.
Congrats on the new boat Craig.
Pete I'd take you up on that offer too.
Just give me a day or so notice to make sure the boss don't have plans for me...lol.
I'll pm you my number when I get home.
Well ya know how it is. When the wife is looking over your shoulder...lol:yikes
