Lake Hampton/Yadkin Watershed 3-10

Wind was horrible this afternoon and fishing started slow but got them dialed in after about an hour of trial and error. Water was stained and 52 degrees at the dam and as high as 57 on the shallow end. Caught lots of crappie today... 50+ but several small males. Came home with 22 I think was the keeper count. Probably 70% caught on white 2 inch jig and but 2 of the 3 biggest were on a yellow jig. The 15-18 ft water where depth changed was certainly the most productive. Caught one largemouth and a huge bream too. Not the best day of fishing but certainly a good day on the water. No gas motors allowed on this lake and is an excellent place to take a kid fishing where you will no get rocked by boat traffic.
