    Default Trolling motors

Thinking about getting a new trolling motor. Looking at the
Minn Kota Terrova Bow Mount Trolling Motors w/ Universal Sonar 2 and i-Pilot Wireless GPS Trolling or MotorGuide Xi5 Trolling Motor with Sonar & Pinpoint GPS. Any suggestions on which one is the better of the two

I don't know about the new motor guides, but I had an 2008 and had nothing but trouble. The transmission when out cost me $165 then the circuit board for another $200. Finally I junked it and got a minn kota v2 powerdrive with the sonar 2. I have added the wireless to it this past weekend. With that said. The motorguide was quieter and had much better adjustment on speed for slow trolling and was already wireless. I am not sure how the Terrovas are.

You'll most likely love the Terrova ( most are very satisfied). I understand the Motorguide may have a better spot lock feature on the new ones, but most people that tightline or troll don't use that spot lock feature that often. If the Ulterra isn't out of your budget, that's the Cadillac model of them all IMO.

In have no experience with the Motor Guide either but I'm sure you will be pleased with the Minn Kota.

I have a 2006 Minn Kota Co-Pilot. It has been used and used again so many times. It is not fancy but works well for me. I have used it many hours chasing trout and drum in salt water. It has always been very dependable.

I didn't know they still made motorguide (IOI) If you longline or tight line I think the Ipilot is a most.
