Default Cold weather hot bite one crappie and..

The white bass bite at Hyco is on fire. Yes it was cold yesterday and guides were freezing and landing net was frozen solid but only a little wind. Big surprise was the rise in water temps from Sunday...up 5* I guess from increase power demand and more discharge from the cooling process. Caught scattered fish from first cast at Noon until around 3:00 when they moved shallow and started feeding aggressively. For hours it was almost every cast with good size some over 2 lbs. Largemouth were mixed in. Kept all I wanted to clean and released the rest. One ounce toothache spoon jigging off the bottom was working for me. Only a couple of boats out. Good day on the water. FB

Somehow I overlooked this thread. Way to go fishbud! I caught a bunch of whites there 2 weeks ago. I may be back there again this weekend but will be targeting crappies as usual!
