Default Tough day at Harris 2/14

Went to Harris around 1:30 yesterday and there was only one other boat in the parking lot. He was taking some old concrete and rocks to build a couple beds. Tried a ton of different spots from 20' to 52' and everything in between. Very few, and I mean very few, takers. Caught 5 total when I left at 6pm. Used jigs, jigs tipped with minnows and plain minnows at different depths. I went back to the same spots that I was over Friday evening and just did not mark anything. Friday these spots were full but they weren't interested in my jigs. It was 28 degrees when I got to the lake and 20 when I left. Had to knock the ice off the eyes just to drop down. I love this kind of weather so it was still a fun day.

Matt and I had similar results on Jordan yesterday. No minnows, just jigs. There was plenty of fish and bait on the sonar. We were the only ones out there for most of the time we were there so we just drifted through them from all directions. We were thinking about heading out and drifting to the ramp. I hooked the proverbial don't leave yet fish. I followed that with a second keeper crappie. Matt followed up with another keeper. Then as fast as it happened it was done. hahahahahaha. Of course we fished for a while more thinking we were just not on them but there was not joy. At the ramp we gave the three a reprieve and freed them.

When we got out of our yaks I thought my feet were just cold. hahahaha, no, they were numb. It was a slow walk to the truck as I worked some warmth back in them. Even with two good pairs of socks and my stocking foot waders they got cold.
