The co-pilot is nice. But if ya have the funds go for the I-Pilot. It is a nice item to have aboard. I upgraded from co-pilot to I-Pilot. Like night and day for me. Good Luck and keep the reports comin.

Beginner's luck. I will take any help I can get.
My wife just wants to catch fish. I am by far the one that likes to understand how all the nuts and bolts fit together.

I have a co-pilot on my terrova trolling motor. I like the little remote a lot; otherwise my wife would have to learn to be much more self-sufficient on the boat than she currently is.

At the time we bought the boat it came with a Minn Kota Terrova trolling motor with co-pilot. Maybe down the road when I figure many more things out I will get the I-pilot. It does have many features that would be very nice.

To convert my v1 would have been major changes to go from copilot to ipilot

You should be able to convert the trolling motor to I-pilot for around $500.00 and it will be the best money you will spend on fishing gear. On the stripers if you will let them run away from the back of the boat and clear your line you have a better chance of landing them without tangling lines. We caught 4 stripers and 4 largemouth Friday trolling jigs and only had one tangle of 3 rods out of the 8 fish caught. Varying speed of the trolling motor and adding small split shot is how most people change depth of jigs. Always remember you want your jigs above the fish and not below. Keep fishing
