Went to the Black River this morning and it was way too high to fish so I settled for Lake Waccamaw pretty much knowing it was gonna be a white perch trip. I know some of you guys don't eat em but I think they taste just fine fried up. I fillet them, skin them, and cut the dark strip out. Biggest was 14". Must've caught at least fifty. Hung a little flathead, that was fun on the long poles. Also got a bonus yellow perch. I tightlined 2 poles with minnows and 2 poles with the little 1" chartreuse Gulp! minnows.
Caught almost all of the perch over 12" on the Gulps, as well as the flathead. Ended up with just over 4 pounds of fillets. Can't wait for the rivers to get right again. Hopefully soon.
