homemade rod resters?

I saw a boat at a ramp where someone had made something that functioned like the driftmaster rod resters. I can't remember what they were like so was wondering if any of you have made any and how?

i made one that holds three rods .it is make out of a 5 gallon bucket.i should have made it hold 4 it still would be plenty of spread.i works great for a 3 dollar investment.

My Father made some homemade rod holders. He had to do some welding, but they look good. He dipped the upper ends in something like liquid rubber to coat the metal. Maybe I can get a picture one day and post it.
