Charles and I spent some time on Harris today. Was a bit more windy than we thought, but were able to catch some fish. We caught several very chunky white perch and a few crappie. Charles caught the largest of the day and is in the picture. Had a chance to capture some screen shots that you guys may be interested in viewing. We were doing some experimenting and not seriously trying to put fish in the cooler.
Wonder why there are two waypoints in this area?

Awesome post, I am still trying to learn what to look for exactly on my fish finder so this is great!
Uh oh. The fish were safe with me on Harris but now that Hunter and JordanLimit have moved to Harris the crappie are in serious trouble. Good job guys and always nice to see your reports.
Is that the Loch Ness Monster in the 6th DI image????Great report and pictures.

SeaRay--look at the 4th screenshot. I've found over the past year that fish feeding on the shad schools will cause them to arch up. Look under the school, especially on the 2D side, and you will see fish coming up off the bottom, causing the school to make an arch. We were just long-lining jigs, but I would feel very confident that if we had some minnows and our bottom-bouncing rigs, we would have caught some decent fish. There was a line of suspended fish between 15'-18' and that is the depth we were targeting.
For you guys that regularly fish Harris, I wanted to share these screenshots as tips on where to find the fish. I took a lot more then just the ones I posted and I use them to study back at home. There are things I can see on the larger computer screen than I can see on the boat.
The screenshot with the two waypoints is a very important one if you are fishing Harris or just about any lake. As you can see, the fish are stacked in here and this is where we caught the big one. If you go to the Navionics website, they have a free map app that you can access and bookmark. Even if you don't have a GPS map on your boat, you can study the topo map and plan out a place to fish. Rarely do I fish a lake without "pre-fishing" using this web app. Look for flats off main channels the next two months and you should find fish--either crappie or perch, which we also caught a bunch of yesterday.
Great report. It's in the contest.
