    Default Kerr Lake

Heading to Kerr Lake this evening to do some camping and fishing. Have the father in law with me and would like to put him on some fish(species of fish isnt really important). I've been told the white perch can be pretty thick and decent in size. We will be in the Bushnut Creek area and fishing from a 20' boat. At the moment I'm thinking about trolling a 3 way rig with a crank bait on the bottom and jig on top through coves off the main creek. If I can find any bush piles we will stop and fish them then move on. Does that seem like a decent plan to any of you Kerr Lake expects? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I just seen this also, been fishin a LOT! Ya idea bout the 3 rig rite on. There are lot of perch in the larger creeks off of Nutbush. Mostly in the 15-2fow range, I use a Roostertail an a divin plug that will reach my targeted depth. When ya catch one, go back an jig a Hopkins or a CC spoon in them, that way you will catch all ya want. hope this helps

Fishdoc, you are spot on. We ended up with a decent number of eater size perch doing exactly what you said. The bigger ones seemed to like the 20ish fow better.
