    Default Lake Twitty Report,,5-30

I tried somenew waters today.Lake Twitty is ran by the city of Monroe water resources,,just outside of Monroe. It has a aireation system in the lake.I longline trolled today with 1/16 oz sliders again with yellow being the best color .I trolled in,thru and around the aireation bubbles but could not buy a bite there,,,they were infested with baitfish, when you'd get close the bait fish would scatter and sometimes jump slam out of the water. The Lord blessed me with a very nice day on the water, caught a good many fish,,mostly on the small side, all crappie except one catfish and one white perch, with the range being mabey 4 inches to 10 mabey 11 inches. There is no size limit there,,it would make a good trip for a pond stocking program.Heres a couple pictures.
Heres what the aireation spots look like,,they probally got 25 or 30 of these in the lake,,each was full of bait but not any hungry fish

    Heresone of the better ones

and since this IS the Slider Jig Contest,,,How about this Picture titled Eating it Up?Cant get enough Sliders

bearclaw you are truly a great fishermen if you could catch any crappie out of that lake. At one time it was a good crappie lake but in the last 5 years or so it's been a lot of hard work for small fish. After someone put white perch in there you could catch them all day and I was sure one day it would be a good perch lake. But they have disappeared also. Good job

Havn't fished Twitty in years. It used to be pretty good back in the day. You could be surprised with a big fish most any trip. Is there still a limit on size of motor you can have?

They still have a 20 hp limit. The guy that runs it will let you put in and just use your trolling motor .From what I saw yesterday there's a lot more wakes off those flat bottom boats with guys that run em bout half throttle and just plow thru the water than I would have made my boat with a bigger motor.I had one guy come straight to me,I thought it was the game warden coming to check me,came about 50' by me,went to the bank and proceeded to cast for bass( if I'd been on any other lake where I would been able to run my motor,I would have returned the favor and shook him up with a wake or two as I left)They have a weekly Thursday evening bass tournament and the lake stays open till 8 instead of 7. PAM3417,,,I caught one tiny white perch. With all the bait I saw at the aireators one would think it would be full of big fish. I have saw a few pictures of some huge blue catfish from there. I just may give the catfish a try .
