Default Hard sliding trolling motor fix

I have tried a bunch of stuff on my troller shaft to make it slide up and lock in the cradle. Nothing seemed to work.
Well I was cleaning the body and base up the other day using Turtle wax Trim Restorer.
I dropped the troller in the water this morning and was glad it had a stop on it, then I pulled it up with one hand and locked it in the cradle easy peasy. I don't know how long this will last but I'll keep the bottle handy when it gets hard to lock down again.
On top of that the whole troller looks almost new.
i know many of you have the same problem, maybe I should have kept my mouth shut and sold the fix on a per boat rate. I know I would have paid money for a fix.
    Try it you'll like it
