yeah mike, right on the combo. i had a nice humminbird 596c combo unit with map card. had over a 100 waypoints on it. 1 day on randleman it showed low voltage then went out. never worked again. humminbird says they dont repair those units anymore. might pick up a new combo at cabellas opening. hard to find extra cash on retirement though. when you planning on your roanoke trip?
Extra cash is hard when you're working too. LOL I've been looking at the Lowrance HDS7 with sidescan for a while now, but just can't pull the trigger on it. We'll be up there Tue/Wed/Thur the of the last two weeks in April. We are ready to go too.

We have an older Humminbird on our boat and only use it for GPS. We don't even have the transducer hooked up. Maybe you can find someone upgrading and pick up their old one if it has a GPS. You may want to try Craigslist.
