Line visibility in piedmont

Installing new line for the spring fishing season (crappie and sunnies). Trying to decide between hi-vis line and regular old clear line. Does anyone have any experience in the piedmont (Harris, Jordan, etc). Water is usually pretty stained to murky, I would think a hi-vis line wouldn't make much difference. However, you do get those late spring days fishing the sunfish spawn where the water is clear and wind dies down. Decisions decisions.

Too bad reels don't come with extra spools anymore, problem would be solved.

I have always liked dark green and clear in that area. I personally don't like high vis lines unless there is a leader at the end of clear.

color of line dont matter its whats on end of the line they wont use a line you can see.

I only use high-vis line. If you are fishing multiple rods like I do, it's the only way to try and keep my sanity. Spring-time means long-lining and I need to make sure my lines all stay evenly separated. Back during the Fall and Winter we limited out several times with nothing but high-vis. It's like what the other guys stated--what's on the end of the line is the most important.

Chief uses bright orange 1/4 inch rope and don't have a problem catching fish.




Of course he's got a bucket of minnows in the boat too.

I like low vis. green on everything.

I got the high-vis green Mr. Crappie line on all my stuff. No problems in stained or clear.

i would prefer the fish not see my line, i would have zero confidence in hi vis. never used it and have no plans on trying it.
