I used to fish it, there is a creek on the left, with a large bay upstream of the landing, also a large bay on left after that upstream. Also up further on right is a shallow bay that should also be good if they are spawning.

Spring and fall concentrate in the creeks and in the summer concentrate along river channel. Never fished it in the winter. Be careful boating, it has a lot of log jams below the surface and in the middle of the lake on the upper end. If you have a bigger boat you'll have to use the ramp on the lower end. Kayaks, canoes and small boats can be put in off Grassy Island Road.

After you have moved and settled in shoot me a PM, I fish there a couple of times a year in a kayak.
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

If the dam is open there is a good current pulling through the lake, other wise it's not bad. From Laurel Hill it's about the same to either ramp.

It used to be one of the best fisheries in this area. Real nice fish and a good amount of them, but the internet took its toll and the locals figured out where they were spawning and hammered them pretty good for a few years. Still some nice eaters in there. They drop the water a lot during the day sometimes and as Nat said there is some nasty stuff lurking just below the surface. I envy you to be moving close to Blewett. It is a lot of fun trying to figure the little pond out but that's half the fun to me. It changes about as quick as anywhere I've fished.

I should also mention since your moving close to there about the good bream and catfish fishing. If your in the right spot at the right time you could make a tournament bass fisherman cry.
