I decided to recycle a trip me and Banjo Mo made to Shearon Harriss on January 17. We put in at the ramp near the dam and swent straight out and across the lake to the 1st big creek mouth past the dam on the right. Fished in the mouth of that creek and from there up stream about 2 miles or so then back down in the course of a days fishing. The bite was slow but steady all day and we caught a real nice size class of fish. The big surprise was not only that the crappie were nice but we caught some of the biggest white perch I have ever caught. We ended up with 14 nice crappie and 16 nice white perch. Banjo won't eat the perch so he kept all the crappie and I took the perch. I made him keep 2 perch so he could compare when he cooked them to see how good the perch really are. We caught the fish in and around the river channel fishing in 30 to 40 feet of water 28 feet +/- deep. The lake was slick as glass all day. Late in the afternoon the wind came up just a little and the bite speeded up. We left them biting. One thing we found was that when we found a group of bait and fish on the depth finder we would usually catch 2 or 3 then even though we were still over fish they would stop biting. We would ride around a little and find another cloud of fish and repeat the process. Enjoyed meeting Hockey86, chatting with him and admiring his rig. When I grow up I want a boat like his Name: banjo.jpg
