Tried something a little different yesterday. Went to Lake Waccamaw and instead of fishing Big Creek I drifted around in the lake for a little while. Not much doing. Caught three bass (one 3lb+), one yellow, and one white perch. That's it. It was real choppy so it didn't last long. I didn't know there were keeper size yellows in there. I've caught little itty bitty ones before, but in all my years fishing there never caught a keeper. The white I caught was a dandy, probably just under if not 2 lb. and gorged full of those endemic Waccamaw minnows, which makes me wonder why I didn't catch more. Whatever. People swear that there are crappie in the lake, but I've never caught one. I know I could've hit the creek and caught some, but I wanted to mix it up a little. Alright, back to work. Oh yeah. I guess a fellow CDC member, vfarmit, saw me on the Black River Saturday. He was duck hunting, and I did hear him blasting away. I know you guys up on Jordan see each other all the time, but there's not a whole lot of us down here. So it's real cool when we see each other.
