I had two guys cancel on me today, so I was with all my friends, me, myself and I.
Got there early, before 9 for a change. Don't know why I bothered, fish don't hit until about 10. I noticed when I drove over the Farrington Bridge, there were a million birds on the road north of the island- just standing around like they were at a football game or something. About 10, they all decided to fly to the south side of the lake,. Just about the same time the fish started hitting. I bet the cows got up too.

Fished around Farrington until about one and had 17 legals. Talked to a guy who had just come from Rt 64 and he said there were some smaller fish down there. I watched Monk for a while and it didn't seem like he was too busy. Also saw Freddie (Slotrol) with his client.

Went to Rt 64 and nailed 5 nice fish pretty quick. Stayed about an hour more and caught 4 more. They were all good fish and knocked the fire out of that brown/chartreuse jig.

Saw a guy who fished there quite a bit last winter with his new Ranger-- $69,000 worth.

Grand total for the day was 26 legal fish with 7 over 13", but no really big ones. Most caught on Br/ch 16-18 ft. Pretty good way to forget the 3 years I wasted in Viet Nam.
