I have a 17' Carolina skiff with a 50hp four stroke. My trailer tires (both sides) wear on the inside and outside but not as much in the middle. The tires are 175/80/13. How much air pressure should I be running?

Look on the tire sidewall max pressure is listed there.

The max pressure shown on the tire is the maximum pressure and load bearing for the tire. That is not necessarily the best pressure for your particular trailer and boat. It depends on the weight the tires are carrying. On cars the recommended pressure is shown on the side plate in the door jamb and that often differs quite a bit from the maximum capacity shown on the tire. You could probably talk to your tire or trailer dealer to get an idea of what pressure to run or surely from the trailer manufacture.
Too much pressure can cause the middle to wear prematurely and too little can wear the sides but other factors are involved also.
You could have an alignment problem that is keeping the tires from tracking properly. (ie the axle may not be aligned perpendicular to the line of travel.)

Like said above,Check the max pressure rating on the tire first. If it is higher than the current pressure you are running then increase it. Wear on a tire like you have described generally means not enough pressure.

His post says that his tires are wearing more in the middle. That is too much air in the tire. Go down with the pressure.

Looks like a low pressure problem. Wear on both sides doesn't indicate axle alignment problems. Inflate tires to max pressure that is indicated on the sidewall. Measure the center tread depth. Keep a check on the depth; if it starts to decrease too fast, reduce tire pressure in 10 psi increments.

If your tires are now worn bad on the outsides, I would suggest replacing them and keep a close watch for even wear and let the place where you get the tires recommend pressure changes.

I have a tracker trailer (17.5' alum boat / 50 HP motor) 1st. set of tires (Tracker tires came with trailer MFG. in china) ran 40 PSI got less than 1,000 road miles on them, BassPro out of the goodness of their heart replaced them ( AT NO CHARGE) with the same type tire informed me tire psi should have been 50 psi got less than 800 miles on the 2nd. set of tires. Like you said the inside was gone while the the out side looked new. On my 3rd. set now that I bought from Brothers Tire store in Kannapolis have app.1400 miles on them at 45 psi and they still look new. ( I'm sure they were mfg. chain.) so I'm going with the 45psi. Most of the roads I travel to High Rock are a lot like a washboard, real rough.
