I don't know about your neck of the woods but I tried with the green light and as soon as the sun set fish quit biting. Like someone flicked a switch. If you have better luck let us know. I have plenty of time for night fishing.

This year for me anyway has been the worst year for fishing under the lights. Places that have always been good for me in the past have been dead. But on the plus side I was always able to find fish during the day even midsumer. Just one of them things. I have never tryed fishing at night in cool weather so let me know how you do.
I am seriously thinking about going tomorrow night at badin. I went last year in early spring and done very well until the weather heated up
For the past 23 years I have done nothing but deer hunt in the fall but am struggling to get into hunting this year partly due to sights like this where I see how many good fish alot of you guys caught last year. Needless to say I have the fishing bug bad. Heck I have never even crappie fished during the day in the Fall either so that would be a first for me as well. I have always been a spring guy to pass time until deer season but that is different this year. I figure i will get a couple dozen minnows Saturday night and try it at least for a couple of hours. I will be sure to let you guys know how I do. Thanks!
Try the west side of the 98 bridge. You should get some.
I've found that night fishing is more difficult as the air/water temperature drops. In the summer, I can guarantee they will be stacked up over the old river channels. Once water temp's start to drop and the lake turns over, the fish scatter to more shallow hangouts. Come January, they will be back in the river channels, hugging the bottom.
On lake Wylie last weekend me and a buddy had a blast. Went through 4 dozen minnows and kept 20 over 10". They bit jigs and minnows, but liked the minnows more. Over 25' of water with some brush underneath. Some big perch thrown in there too.

You should be able to get a lot of right now. Find the spot you like and set up and hold on. Don't pack up and move if they don't hit immediately give them time to adjust to the conditions. Once the bait moves in then you can adjust your depth and have some fun. I hope you'll come out to the clash and join in with the crowd.![]()
