Need a little info about Lake Norman Long Island area

I am staying near Long Island and have never fished up this far in the lake before. Can anyone familiar with this help me? I want to fish tomorrow 9-5-14 and any help would be appreciated

I guess would depend on what ya wanta catch. Go right from Long Island in morn. I thank it's mile marker 21. Bass will be there.

It's a good area to fish. What are you fishing for? If it rain's a lot(several inches)and they open the gates on lookout there will be a lot of trash in the water. The state park and Monbo backbone is a good areas.

Some guys at work fish below Long Island for crappie at night but lately they haven't done much good. I would suggest fishing in the State Park area.

Thanks, I only fish for crappie. Of course I will enjoy whatever hits it.
