    I don't know any crappie fisherman that has actually tried one. The bass guys are about 50/50 on the subject. I have thought about getting one myself but never did. My money is to valuable to waste on a potential gimmick.

    Gimmick? Seems like a "sound" principal to me. Unless you believe that fish don't respond to sound stimulation. There is plenty of evidence contradicting that theory. Not to mention practical evidence ( google chugbugs and rattletraps) . I've heard of striper fishermen pulling and dumping buckets of lake water to stimulate striper interest.
