Jordan Report from last Thursday
I was in the mountains over the weekend and just getting around to posting this report. My father, brother and nephew did a night stalk on Jordan last Thursday. They used mostly minnows and caught at least 100 crappie. Problem is, only 4 were big enough to keep. They were trying to fish around 10' deep, but there was a layer of 6"-8" crappie about 6' down. Most of the time their minnows never made it down to 10' because the small crappie were biting them on the way down.
Pop said all the crappie they caught were nice and healthy, just so many small ones. He also said that in one place on the lake they went, the surface was covered with young threadfin shad. The three of them are going to continue their quest last this week to find where the larger crappie are hiding on Jordan.
