its all about supporting and giving back to these guys and gals as they have done more for us that we will ever know about. Its worth every minute when you see the look on some of their faces when the catch their first big crappie or bass. Most of them don't care about the fish as much as making new friends and the memories. I cant wait until next year!!!
I had a great time and truly enjoyed taking out a fellow veteran fishing for the day. CT beat us out by 2 ounces for the big fish, although Badin has much bigger crappie than this. By the end of the day everyone was joking and laughing and having a great time. The weather was great, little wind and a good meal at the fire station when it was over. I will be there again next year.
More support from the crappie.com folks would make it much better next year. Need to show those Green Carp fisherman how its done! Maybe even do a fish fry at the end of the event next year.
If Shane can get us in touch with the right folks my brother (Taking Crappie) in Pa. would like to get something going up there.
