Default Striper Fishing With The Crazy Man

Joined Crappiekrazy and his friends Darin and Jimmy for a trip to the Roanoke River 4/20/14.
Lots of rain had the river high, dingy and running fast. Add the high winds and the fishing was a challenge. Still we anchored in the mouths of several feeder creeks and ended up catching 50-60 stripers this size on Sunday. Unfortunately they were all about 1/2 inch shy of keeper status. Still, had a great time and did manage a couple to bring home.

Looking at that crowd the people ought to be in stripes, not the fish.

Way to go guys. I didn't see where Jack went, was he not invited this time?
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Jack stayed home but Evan showed up the night before and afterwards.

They are selling them at the Pondarosa campground on the left just before coming into Weldon on Hwy. 158.

Just get him on, then we'll worry about getting him in!

Great report Gary. I wish it could have been nicer weather, but that's how it goes. I enjoyed seeing you and look forward to May when we can go catch the other fish with stripes!! LOL.
