    Default Weldon 4/13

Bigcountrync and I made the trip up to Weldon to catch the beginning of the Striper run.

The water is currently up enough that the "Big Rock" is now underwater. Water temp was 57F. We caught many fish, Only 3 keeper size though. The good news is there are lot fish up there to be caught, I saw both people drifting and anchored catching fish, although for us drifting was better.

Here is a picture of CrappieKrazy and crew on board the "Convicted", they were catching their fair share too.

Boyce it was nice seeing ya.

I want to remind everyone of two important safety factors.

    1) Bring plenty of liquid I was hot and I am glad I had my Gatorade with me
    2) Those Striper Gill-plates are Sharp I sliced my thumb on one and it bled for ever!

It was good to see you Tony as well. We caught around 45-50. Most were males, 16-17 inches long. We did catch 2 in the slot. It did get hot out there though. I forgot to bring sun screen and my arms were dark pink by the end of the trip. We had more luck drifting, but my boat engine started running bad and I was scared to drift down too far, so we anchored up and caught some too. I hope I found the problem yesterday, my low pressure fuel filter was leaking and I think it was sucking air. I will give it a test run after work tomorrow. Here are some pics of Skip, Brittany and I with our biggest catch!

Here is Tony and BC drifting by us, right after I took this picture and put the phone back in my pocket, they both hooked up!!

Just get him on, then we'll worry about getting him in!

Nice catch. Boat traffic doesn't look too bad.
