    Default Harriss Saturday

Banjo Mo and I fished a long cold windy bumpy day at Harris Saturedy. Fished several different coves from shallow to 40 feet of water. Caught 14 crappie with 9 keepers. All fish came in 35-40 feet of water 3 -6 turns off the bottom on minnows. The females were so full of eggs that the eggs were leaking out of them. Lots of boat traffic kept our bait jerking up and down all day. It was avery slow bite for us and the way the boats were running up and down the lake it must have been slow for others. Most of the few fish we caught came later in the afternoon when the boat traffic and wind clamed down a bit. Dloes anyone know the results of the tournament Saturday?

Not a bad report for Harris these days.

I wanted to go Sat. but I figured the place would be packed with boats and with the wind blowing so hard it wasn't going to be a good mix. Prepared myself to go on Sunday afternoon but the wind was blowing pretty good and when I read the forecast it was supposed to get worse as the afternoon went on. Needless to say the wind died down and the rain never really came. Would've been a perfect afternoon. I will be on Harris or Jordan this coming weekend if not during the week.

Because the fishing was so bad on Harris last week, the guys voted Saturday morning to move the tournament to Jordan. Not sure why Harris has become so difficult to catch a good mess anymore.

I think it is because the water is so cold. The warmest water we found was about 52 degrees 49 in the main lake. I think the fish need to spawn but it is too cold for them. Maybe Jordan is warmer.
