Attempt at nightstalking Norman , July 05 , 2013.

I was bored , so I decided to head to LKN about 3:30 Friday morning. I went to downtown Davidson , and fished across from Wilson Park. For some reason , the crappies were reluctant to bite at first , but after about an hour under the light , my minnows began to suffer. The total for the outing was 10 fish - 2 blues , 4 spots , and 4 crappies. All fish were released , save for 2 larger crappies 9 and 10 inches , respectively , and a 15" spot , saved for my mother. I'll have to give it another shot this weekend , I took 2 days off next week , so I may head up there Saturday night. However , this go round , I'll take 3 dozen large minnows , and keep the light about 15' out from shore. Oddly enough , the last time I fished there , I didn't catch a thing , but the first time , ended up with 14 catfish. I was totally unprepared for that one , I used a park and ride and took the bus the rest of the way , with nothing to put the fish in. I really didn't think I'd have any luck , but I'm sure you all know how that goes.

Nice one, if you have a couple poles try the BGBS or flick tail jigs in the lights. The crappies will tear those up too.
