Default Does anyone fish Lake Lure?

I've been there before (years ago) and I know it's expensive but I've heard that there are some true monster crappie there and that they don't start spawning until mid-may. Just wondering if anybody knew anything about it.

I have never fished there, but I have fished at Lake Adger with out success on crappies. It is near Lake Lure. I did catch some sunfish and bass. I'd guess that the guys from up that way may know more about presentations that may produce fish.

I am originally from Forest City, NC so I have fished the river systems feeding Lake Lure and the one below the damn. white bass fishing on the river feeding Lake Lure was awesome as teenager. I have caught some nice crappie in the river below the damn. I have seen some absolute monster crappie in that river also. Have never fished the lake itself

I know it's a privately owned or maintained lake. Several years ago I wanted to put my boat in and found out there was a daily fee. That was about ten years go and If I remember correctly it was about 65 bucks a day give or take. Here is a link to the fee schedule if you can make heads or tails of it! Check out the 2nd page to see what they get a day for renting a pontoon boat I am in the wrong business! Also when it states residents It doesn't mean NC residents but locals at least I think so.

If you don't mind paddling, I guess you could get a kayak and a $23 permit (Ha-Ha). I ain't paddling unless I have to.

I guess if you rich you can truly control the world around you. Unfortunately I'm not so I will just keep on fishing public waters. It is ridiculous to ask prices

It is set up to keep the riffraff out of view. Nothing spoils the neighborhood like a bunch of brogans and ball caps.
You just gonna sit there an argue, or fish?
