Default Jordan 4/23 All but one with eggs

Went to Jordan today with my Father and although we did not get our limit, we caught enough for a good meal. Pop called me a few minutes ago after he cleaned the fish and all but one still had eggs. I find this quite interesting because I thought the spawn was over last weekend. Maybe the cool nights has caused some of them to wait a few weeks. He thought it would be another two weeks before those he cleaned would be ready to spawn. All fish caught on jigs and seemed something with red in it was the best.

    Pop with two best fish.

I noticed that the female fish I caught earlier this week all had eggs but none seemed swollen full like a few weeks ago. I read somewhere that the females will not spawn any immature eggs and they will simply absorb those back into there bodies this might be what were seeing, but I'm not 100% positive. Any input from other members?

Sounds like you had a good day fishing always great to get out with your father it will bring you good memories some day.

Was there any certain depth you were more successful catching your Crappie in today?

Oh and I couldn't help but notice your boat has the same Jordan Lake mud stripe up to the water line, Anyone know what works best to wash it off with it seems a little difficult to remove.

Thanks for your post and Jordan update JordanLimit

sounds like a good day, the fish on high rock haven't all spawned out yet either, only the little ones are up shallow. i agree that the cold nights are killing the spawn
When in doubt, set the hook.

All the females I caught (25-30) since last sunday had eggs in them. most were they typical yellow sack, but some were darker, almost orange. I think that for the next week or so the spawn should be good, although last night was slower than some of my previous outings this past week.

Someone mentioned it on here a few years back...they all do not spawn at the same time.. you have to think of it as a bell curve... so you have some early spawners, then the majority, then the late bloomers..

I went back today with my friend Phil and the bite dropped off from yesterday. We were in 8' water and fishing right off the bottom. He caught a nice 14.25" female in the first five minutes. I thought it was going to be a magic day, but we ended up with only 8 keepers. I talked with one guy and he had his best bite at daybreak. When I cleaned the big female, she was hours away from spawning. The other ones seemed a couple of weeks away. The frustrating thing today was I saw a lot of large fish on the depth finder and could not catch them. I don't have something just right yet.

About the Jordan paint job--I took the boat to the hand car wash and it did not come off. I even pre-sprayed it with some stuff from the hardware store that is to take even the most difficult stains off. I used the hand brush and the power spray, but no luck. The scum got on there two weeks ago when I was taking out at Farrington.

Thanks for the good update Jordanlimit, sorry that the fishing wasn't as good as yesterday.

I am at a loss as to what product would take the mud scum off of the boat as mine has the matching paint job right now. I even tried presoaking with outdoor deck cleaner the type with bleach, didn't work either.
