New Lake by Werner Park

I drove out by the new lake that was built and just waiting for it to fill up. After the heavy rain the other day and with the heavy rain yesterday morning it is filling up pretty fast. It is past Lincoln Street bridge now. It is backed up in the coves and filling really good. We drove by it last week after the rains we had to see how it is filling up and was surprised it is so full already. EB

Saw it Tuesday. Looks to be more of a linear lake. Looks nice though. Heard they might be building one near Kennard, anybody else here similar?

can't wait for her to be filled to the brim and fish a flapping - any idea what they are gonna stock it with?

no ideas on WHAT they will stock it with, but I can say that they have stocked some species in there already. Last year is when they started stocking it with largemouth bass and bluegill in order for them to get a "step up" on other species that can or in this year's case have already been flushed in there due to heavy rains. Redear sunfish are the only species they have stocked in there this year. I do believe it is slated to open in 2016. I would expect a lot of stocking to be done during this fall and next spring.

thanks for the info - If I get a chance this weekend I'll swing out there and take some pictures and load them here. Any idea where the boat ramps are gonna be?
