Carter Lake was the old river bed! The River changed when they straightened the river out for flood control. Desoto Bend was the original channel too is why you can fish it with a Ne license. EB

Good to know EB, thanks for the info. Though i probably won't take my grandmother or family to fish out there then, since they eat what they catch.
