I had to go for a week but not that long. Hopefully they release you and it just takes a day. Act crazy.....lol
Sounds like the grand jury duty. Not the regular jury duty where you only have to complete one trial.
In Missouri, a grand jury term is 18 months long, and jurors can expect to serve an average of two to three days every one to two months. The selection process for grand jury service takes about one day, and the initial session lasts three or four days.
Here are some other things to know about grand jury duty in Missouri:
You'll only be asked to report for grand jury selection once.
You can call 800-488-0679 for up-to-date information each weekend during your term of service.
A grand jury can't serve for more than six months, unless the term is extended for up to 60 days to complete existing matters.
No new matters can be presented to the grand jury during its extended service.
Jurors are paid at least $6 per day, plus seven cents for each mile traveled to and from the courthouse. Most counties pay more.
Employees can't be required or asked to use vacation, sick, annual, or personal leave for jury duty.

Oh, well? Be a good citizen and do your duty. If you got one I should be getting one next. If I remember right that's usually how it worked.

You are just basically on call for 6 months. Doesn't mess up day to day much just can't plan on a few days in case you get notified to show up.
I was on a Special Federal Grand Jury for the western half of Missouri, they extended it to 24 months for a terrorism case we were on. We investigated Organized Crime, Terrorism, Arson and Drugs. To tell you the truth I liked it other than I was working night shift at my job during my time.
During the first day of picking jurors this professor from a college told me he didn't want no part of being a juror, when they asked the question if anyone had a problem with the drug laws in Missouri raise their hand. He was asked to speak, and he said the Missouri drug laws suck and sat back down with a lot of laughter from everyone except the judge. lol He wasn't picked as a juror. lol
My mom was on jury selection for a DWI case and during questions she said we need to bring back prohibition. She got dismissed and her quote was printed in the paper.
