    Default Well, that didn’t work.

Between aircraft and automotive I’ve been a mechanic my whole life, from bicycle repair from a kid ( remember monkey grip for tube repairs ) to these new cars with networks and apps. Been working at this dealership for 15 years and the warranty stuff has worn me slick. So being 726 months old I decided to give my notice, instead of sending me home they offered me a different position, I can’t win. So guess I’ll go a couple more years. Just goes to show how hard it is to find automotive techs nowadays, I have been saying this for years, dealers are starting to see.

New position, still just a mechanic, but won’t have to deal with stuff like this: 2023 F150 Pre delivery inspection, won’t come out of park. 10 hours later, 5 minute fix.Name: IMG_0484.jpg

It took you 10 hours to plug in that connection? Maybe I should be a mechanic.

Might be handy, always thought you had a few screws loose.

Now that stuff ticks me off. That pin was bent from the get go. How were they moving that truck around the factory lots or loading the shipping trailers. What kind of QC doesn’t check to see if the truck shifts?? Great example of how lazy our work force is becoming.

Hard to find skilled labor these days. Even harder to find skilled labor with work ethic. Ride it till the wheels fall off.
