    Default The Weir

It was kind of a slow day at first for Jeff(jigfisherx) and I yesterday. Started out below the dam. Caught a few whites and a couple crappie I think. Nothing to keep. Left and headed to the Weir. Not a lot going on there at first so we went and dipped trees. Still no luck. So we head back to the Weir to finish up the day. We're back probably 20-30 minutes and Jeff says "do you see that, the whites are bustin over there". At first I didn't see it but then I saw what he was talking about. Pure mayhem haha. I have never seen anything like it. They were going nuts everywhere. We trolled over and started slaughtering them. Reeling in really really fast imitating running shad worked great! I bet we caught 12 or more just in our last hour there. Nothing crazy as far as size but It was such a good time. White body chart tail sliders were the ticket yesterday.

Whites are always fun when busting the surface. I chased them one morning on the Osage arm for probably an hour. At first there were no other boats in sight until one cruising by saw what I was doing. The pulled up about 25 ft. from me and started casting where I was fishing. Kept a limit but threw back many more. Biggest was an 8 lb. hybrid that was mixed in with them.
