Dex Shane had the same problem on his boat with a Hummingbird. We install a noise filter over the cable as close to the unit as possible and it fixed it. Bought it radio shack for about $10. Just clam shells over the cables
I think Humminbird was supplying the cable with the ferrite installed at no charge to folks who were having the problem, but I'd almost bet that the installer moved your cable too close to the TM power and if you get it away from that, you will go back to good readings
I tried but still couldn't hang with Cliff and Harold.
Ok fellas, the Hummingbird up front is working perfect. Turns out BPS hooked it up to one of the switches up front for a power source and that's what was causing all the interference.. Jeff (jigfisherx) came by and helped me figure things out, thanks Jeff. The good news is they left the cable going back to the battery in place so it was an easy fix. We checked it out and no interference. Hummingbird sent me a Ferrite Ring for the transducer cable and a new Power Cable with a built in filter. We decided to put them on since I had them anyway. Used it today and it worked perfect. It showed me all the places we fished had no fish. :ThumbsUp Thanks again Jeff for the help.
