Default a little food for thought

I been hitting the ole fishing hole last few weeks and doing well, visiting with folks, seeing some ole buds I met on the dotcom. Almost everyone got along well, had a story or two to tell, a joke or just picked on me some,,most everyone, there was a boat or two who always seemed to complain. And that got me to thinking back when I was a kid 8 or 10 years old I would ride my bike to the old fishing ole and sit till most nearly dark, catching bull head or pearch, Granny would always say thank you Mikey they shore will fry up nice. always made me smile. Till one day I ride up to my spot, yes I thought it was My Spot and there sat ole Duggan Taylor, a local man I see around the town a lot, he was just sitting there in my spot, well I got pretty mad and headed right straight home to find my dad and get this man out of my spot, folks my dad told me, put the bike in the trunk and let's go see what the deal is. Got to the spot and me and Harold went straight to ole Duggan, boy is he gonna get a talkin to........ well folks My dad said Michael this here is Duggan Taylor, Yea I know him. and he is a good fisherman, he goes all the time. bet he can teach you a thing or two bout them bull heads, maybe don't get mad, just figure you got a new fishing buddy and y'all can have fun times fishing the ole creek. to this day I never complain about someone fishing close to me............

I grew up on a 120 acre dairy. We had three ponds. Two .5's and one 3 acre pond that had a nice fish population. Our house burned so when we reestablished housing on the other side, the pond was left "unobserved". Most of what I learned about fishing and fishing manners was learned fishing next to the trespassers on our land. I had one couple from the darker side of town, that's what dad called it, that I liked seeing their old pickup at the gate. She even brought me pb/j sammiches. I taught them that less is more. They fished with huge bobbers, huge snap swivels, etc. I fished with a hook and a huge chunk of worm. My bluegill could eat the ones they caught. They taught me that fishing is a social sport, that those with like affection should all be respected until they prove they do not deserve such.
The best way to get to where you want to be in the future is to act like you are there TODAY.

While riggin last year I had a few older gentlemen in a little ol fishing boat come over to the side of my boat to see what exactly I was doing. We tied the boats together and chatted while I finished out my limit, I then gave them the rest of my minners and wished them luck. I would most likely share my fishing spot and minners with anybody on the lake that wanted to chat a bit.
