Fill out paperwork, walk out with gun. If it's a handgun you will have to wait. Here in nc you have to purchase a purely and that qualifies as your wait.

If I go to a gun shop, pawn shop, or pro shop (Cabelas/Bass Pro) and purchase a rifle, how does the process work and how quickly will I be able to actually take/use the gun?? All of my firearms are passed down to me, have never made a purchase
Thanks!!

Permit not purely
In Missouri they do a instant check. If you pass you walk out with your rifle or handgun the same day.
If you have conceal carry I.D., you purchase (fill out paper) and take it home.

In Missouri you dont have have a CC to buy a pistol the same day.
Fill out a NICS form and we call it in. They do a fast review "background" check. It can result in three things. Proceed, delayed or denied. If it's proceed you pay for it and walk out the door. If it's delayed they will further review it and have 5 days to make a decision. So we will hold the weapon back until we hear back from them. If it comes back proceed you comeback in and pick up gun and pay for it. Whole process takes about 15 minutes or less. Out of state buyers of handguns is a little different as it actually gets payed for at our store but the gets shipped to a local to the buyers gun dealer with an FFL. The. When it arrives they will fill out the form and get it called in same as a normal one would.

Just remembered the 4th response from them. It would be can you try to keep them in the store until the authorities' can get there to pick them up. Never happened to me when calling one in but it has happened at the store.
