    Default Stockton lake guides

So I have noticed several Stockton lake guide services. I would like to get some opinions on which is the most knowledgeable on crappie. I want someone that is a good teacher, more specifically I'm after brush pile/standing timber fish and I need some help in these techniques. So for you guys that know these guides, if you could pick one who would it be?

I've heard good things about JR Oldham but I've never personally used him.

I would second the vote for JR. I have fished with him many times, yesterday afternoon in fact. We always seem to catch fish and he has taught me a great deal about Stockton and crappie fishing in general. He convinced me that I needed different electronics than what I had been using and when I got my Humminbird 898 and linked it to a new Humminbird up front it opened up a whole new world of cold water fishing at depths up to 55 feet. I have to say it is a lot of fun watching a fish on your depthfinder hit your jig at 50+ feet of water. Yesterday he took me up the river in 10-12 feet and we had a fun afternoon of minnow fishing until the mosquitos ran us off. He is the only guide I have fished with on Stockton and I think you would learn a lot and have a lot of fun fishing with JR.

I've never used JR's guide services either, but his reputation precedes him. I heard he fishes 300-some-odd days of the year.

J.R. hands down for crappie or walleye. Has always lived at stockton and fished it, very knowledgeable and willing to teach if your willing to learn. A real good guy that puts in the time and knows where the fish are and how to catch them.

Well I called today and talked with him, my next problem lies wil the cost of the trip. I know that he is probably totally worth what he charges but it is just too much for I man to fork out. Would anybody like to share a trip with me?
