well, I guess I missed him! was hoping to see him come by town but nope! I am thinking he might have crossed the finish line by now, if not he's got to be close. I'm sure he is beat after that "float trip"!
Update on Gordon...talked to Lisa and at 11:52 he was 5 miles out...should put him in St Charles a little before 1:00!!! :yikes
Go Gordon GO!!! :ThumbsUpJumping Jacks Icon:ThumbsUp
Gordon hit the finish line at 12:59. So he paddled 340 miles in 77 hours and 59 minutes. He is back at the hotel passed out. There is an awards ceremony at 7:00 if any one wants to meet over there.

Thanks everyone for your encouragement meant a lot. Hotel about to take a nap then go back down the river front and watch others come in. Next year boat number will be 7759
Outstanding.
Congrats
The first 170 were physical. The second 170 miles were all mental.
Congratulations Sir!! Well done!:superman
congrats! quite an accomplishment! did you have any excitement along the way that is worth mentioning?
Congrats Gordon. Can't wait until fall or spring camp to hear the stories around the campfire.
Good to hear you a safe trip. Congrats.
Great job Gordon, and thanks to the members for sharing pictures. What a cool event. Better you than me! doh
Just great looking forward to the repeat event.
Good job Gordon...congrats
Just got back from watching Gordon receive his metal. Drank some watermelon beer to help celebrate his accomplishment. He was wound up like his old self and you couldn't tell he just paddled 340 miles. He will crash and burn tomorrow on the ride home. He is the man, with only three weeks (or weekends) of training.
Glad you got to celebrate with him and Lisa. Was a great accomplishment for him to even finish on his first try at it. Not only did he finish he very well in his division and overall. I will bet he will be very well prepared for next years event and he will do even better.
Congrats Gordon !!!:):):)
That's amazing
Congrats on finishing the race and the great time, can't wait to hear the stories around the camp fire or pile of snow. :Rofl
thats awsome!
Congrats on an outstanding performance. Even more amazing for your first attempt at such a long "float" trip.
That was one of the funniest things other paddlers say they hear from friends/relatives after this thing. "I'll do that float trip with you next year." Float... chuckle chuckle... they have no idea. I know you do as you "quoted" it, this was the worse and most amazing thing I have ever done, bar none.
Impressive!:cheers2
Congrats on smashing your goal of 80 hours! Had fun following the adventure online!
Sleeper fixed. Passed out at 9:30ish last night and slept to 6:30 this morning. There are so many to thank. Slab for the gps and shirt/hat/decals, hookin/cookin (JR/Deb) for three gps's two of which were the same exact one Slab loaned and well has their company and support at the ramps the first day, LSL Angler (Mark) for his company at Herman ramp and his hospitality at his home Saturday on our way home, nice way to end a great week. The over supply of gps's actually turned out to be a blessing that we will discuss in the long version of the story.
