Smithville Spring Camp 2013

Spring is around the corner and soon the crappie will begin their spawn. What's better than chasing the slabs than doing it with a bunch of CDC folks during a camp!!!

2013 Smithville Spring Camp will be May 17-18 at Crow's Creek. Cost is $44 for campsite with electric hookups. That cost covers the campsite for Friday, Saturday, and checkout is Sunday by 11:00 am. Want to stay longer, just let me know and add $22 for each day. If we get 10 campsites reserved, we can get a whole section to ourselves. Deadline for reserving a spot will be 5/1 at our May Smithville Get Together. If you can't make it to the get together, just PM me and I'll give you my address to mail a check.

5/17 Friday:

I will get camp sites and post spots on CDC. Folks will come and setup their site throughout the day and evening. Camper and/or car passes will be in guard booth.


5/18 Saturday Morning:

Fish For Spawning Crappie!!! Everyone is on their own to chase them slabs!!!

Get your GPS's ready because we're going to make a run up the lake at 8:00 am from the Crow's Creek Boat Launch. If you're not familiar with Smithville Lake, here's your chance to follow an angler and save the track to your GPS. Stops will include Robert's and Lynn Branch and Twin Coves on the Little Platte side, and Owl Creek Branch and Ebert's Branch on the Camp Branch side.

The run up the lake will be conditional if the lake is at or above normal pool. No sense in running up the lake in hazardous conditions.

Any Smithville regulars willing to lead the run up the lake, please PM me.


5/18 Saturday Evening:

6:00 pm Smithville Spring Camp Cookout. It will be located at a central location at our camp site. Just look for a group of hungry folks and you'll find it. This will be bring a dish or donate some fillets fillets. Also bring your own chairs and drinks. Anyone and everyone (guys, wives, kids, girlfriends, etc.) is welcome from camp, or if you don't want to camp and just want to come to the cookout. If you are coming to the cookout, post a response on what you will brink. I will compile a list later as we get closer to camp.

I have a fryer and will be frying fish. I need another volunteer to bring their frier, oil, and help me fry. Let me know if you are interested.


5/19 Sunday Morning:

Checkout will be before 11:00 am unless you paid for extra days.
