Slather Crappie in low fat mayo and apply what ever seasonings you want to bake. The mayo cooks away and acts like a glue to keep the seasoning on. Yummy and simple.
Well i don't believe it. I cooked the fish the way Monty did.. I had 6 filets in the dish. when it was done i put cheese on half and put it back in long enough to melt.. I also fry the rest and out of those i soak four filet in tiger sause.. Well there 6 of us in this house and the bake fish was a hit except one. (Wife) bake fish was gone before i could get back to it...As for the tiger sause i will do a hole batch with it..
This is hands down a great tasting way to eat crappie. I also had one filet of Parmesan Cheese that wouldn't fit in the dish-- so i fryed it and man o man thats good too...
Every since I tried this baked recipe on the cooking forum, my wife always wants it the healthy way! I haven't had fried crappie in a couple months! It's always baked. Err. I will try the new seasoning idea. Thanks for the share
Looks good I need to try that for something different. I you have not tried the crappie enchiladas give them a go.
I will next time..After baking the fish with pamesan cheese the grand kids wants me to do it again like that they said.. Hey them grand kids are some very picky customers... Never seen kids who don't like this and don't like that but when they all three like pamesan cheese you know it was a hit.
Looks good Monty.
never thought I would have fish any other way but fried, been baking for about a year now and really like it...and you don't have the mess of grease to deal with.
