great to hear,KT! there are lots of camp sites left over, but I think my mom got the last camper cabin (cabin A), which means I will be in either camp site 66 or 67. I will be making that reservation shortly.
I agree with Rt U in that its never too early to plan din-din. It doesn't matter to me what all we cook up. all I know is that when I camp, I usually eat like a king and make way too much food! if were doing a fish fry, I can bring along some flathead fillets. I also have crappie, but I figure there will already be plenty of that! if we just do a little of everything, I'll probably BBQ a pile-o-chicken-legs.... that'll go great with duck saudage!:cheers2
here's the link to the campground again. Mark Twain State Park Puma Campground | Camping | Mark Twain State Park | Missouri State Parks
should the puma loop fill up, there are still 2 more loops within walking distance of each other.
Site #84 reserved thur-sunday (it is the weekend of June 1&2, right).........looking forward to it. We'll bring a 5 gallon jug of iced tea, a fruit salad and a cake of some sort to the saturday feast. You may want to start a listing of things to bring, they do that for the truman camps and it seems to work well.
I need to make a trip up there before camp to look for some fishing spots.......never been to Twain before, so looking forward to seeing some new water. Thanks to all for setting this up.
Gents,
I'm over in Europe right now so a bit behind...however I will start making a list up of confirmed attendees, where they are staying and what they have offered to bring for camp.
GRB,
If you are planning on making a trip up, let me/us know and maybe we can meet up.
U
yeah, there won't be any shortage of "sectet" fishing spots! at least I won't hold back any. I can say that in my experience, twain fishes much like truman. there is so much cover that you have to stay on the go to find which type of cover they want on a given day. but once ya find that pattern, it's on!
Ok, I'm in Campsite #73. I can also confirm that there are officially (barring any cancellations) 0 cabins available. There are probably around a dozen campsites left at this time too. So if you are planning on attending this shindig and haven't made your reservation yet, the campground is filling up fast.
As for food, I'll bring along some delicious venison. My better half will likely make some kind of desert.
