You should be able to get up that arm far enough to get away from most of the big boats. Still close enough to fish Pomme and Truman also. Congrats on the move. Should have several members not to far from you that will be able to help you out.

Finally got my house sold here a Cape fair Table rock area. Moving to Camdenton, Mo instead of warsaw because grandson couldn't get in the welding class there. Bought a house right in town. Not to far to the lake in any direction.
I Know there a lot of boats on that lake and way bigger then mine but i don't fish when its hot any way. Once Oct come's around i get after thos craps. From other post i've read looks like they do some trolling, dock shotting and between 41 and 46 mile markers is some brush pliles. Can't wait.

Welcome to LOZ, we have a place at the 5MM and I can tell you that you can't get up an arm far enough to get away from the big boats, those fools will follow you and just drive by you to watch you rock and roll. One of the most dangerous lakes in the US and some of the most impolite boaters anywhere. But, on the bright side some of the best crappie fishing, period! We have found a few ways to fish that really have put more fish in the boat, one you can try is gulp 2.5" shad minnows. Thread the minnow on a 1/8 oz jig and then fish it back to the boat with short sharp jerks and rests. Seems the shorelines without docks and homes work best for this method. The other is several long rods out, with minnows about 10 to 15 feet down over 40+ feet of water and use your electric only to keep your boat going straight and slow. Both work good for us; enjoy LOZ and be carefull out there, it's a jungle.
If your in Camdeton you should hit the Larry R Gale access for some pretty decent fishing when the tourist go home. It's close and has some decent crappie in her.
New goal 16" crappie by December 30
Welcome to LOZ, Charley. Plenty of good water up this way, 61mm, if you want to take a long boat ride. If you'd rather tow, Brown Bend Access, and Drake Harbor are good ramps. I'm sure there are many more in between, just not aware of them. Somebody on here can help for sure. Be safe and tight lines!
