Default Fishing For Freedom Oct. 7 Truman Long Shoal

Need additional volunteers due to a large pre registration, consider volunteering for the Fishing For Freedom event October 7th at Long Shoal Marina on Truman, dinner and pre tournament meeting is the evening before on October 6th. F3 pairs volunteer boaters with returning warriors allowing them to escape the hardships of their wounds and deployments and to begin the process of readjusting to everyday life. They had 114 warriors last year and expect more this year. You don't need big fishing skills just a heart big enough to share a day on the water with our nation's finest and most deserving heroes. You can find additional info at this link or contact me directly and I can refer you to an administrator. Fishing For Freedom

It is scheduled for the same day as my anniversary so still trying to talk her into letting me volunteer. It is a great thing to be involved in for sure.

Thanks guys, we don't sponsor it directly so not necessarily a dog in the hunt but they put on a nice program for returning military folk and both the coordinators and vets deserve our support, hope you have a great time 1BC.

These events, specifically "Fishing For Freedom" are truly awesome! We (Quincy, IL) have hosted them for the past two years for bass on the Mississippi and the response, attendance, and appreciation are second to none. Even better, we are planning for a crappie division next year (probably focusing on Mark Twain).

If I didn't have a little one due on 10/11, we'd be making the trek down as volunteers!

    Good Luck.
