Default Mechanic suggestions around Truman '84 Mariner 90 HP.

    '84 Mariner.

Runs like a scalded dog once you get her running and will putter around with slight throttle just fine. It is the starting and idle or very slow speed stuff that she doesn't handle well. Stalls out. That makes recovery at the ramp a PITA! Looking to have her diagnosed and operated on so she is less frustrating.

You did say "Truman Lake area". I would suggest Sedalia Outdoor Sports. Give them a call. Great mechanic and great service.

Yea, you're right. Ok, I'm open for other areas to get this thing tuned.

    Thanks, I'll call Sedalia.

I'm having the exact problem with mine. I'll be taking it to Bruce @ Bucksaw this Wed. He did me right Saturday by helping me out with a wheel bearing that went out. He stayed late to do the repair just so I could get back on the water for camp. It will be the first time I've taken an engine problem to him. I'll let you know how it works out.

Mike in Sedalia it is. Called and talked to him and a couple others. Feel good about our conversation. Leaving a bit early tomorrow from work, Butler to Clinton, hook and go to Sedalia, drop, head to Windsor for evening appointment with client. Home to Raymore. Ought to be about a 250 mile day.

BTW, I consider Sedalia to be "Truman Lake area"... maybe I should have posted some mileage parameters or sumsuch. It's only 48 miles or so.

    THANKS!!!

Be sure to let Mike know they were recommended on crappie.com. Good work and good service speaks loud and proud.

Just wanted to give thanks to those that suggested Mike at Sedalia Outdoor. They got it in, checked it out, rebuilt all three carbs, synched exactly, rebuilt or replaced the fuel pump diaphram, replaced filter and man o' man... that 28 year old motor is running like a champ. Easy idle now, slow speed trailering is nice compared to the disaster she was before we got it fixed.

    Thanks again!!
