    Default alumacraft/lund owners/opit max 150

You folks out there running a opti max 150 on a lund or a alumacraft or any other v-style boat 18', what prop are you running and what rpm's are you getting out of it? I have a 175 alumacraft and am just not getting the right rpm range out of it. the factory recomends a lazerII with a 19" pitch... they say that motor should run around 5720 rpms. Thanks for the help... I will be shopping for one as soon as i figure out what i need...

around 5000 with 1/2 tank of fuel and two people in boat speed is around 46mph.. it is a house prop from cabelas.... though if i bought a new boat would get a prop from merc. wasn't the case the house prop works fine but you would think they would know what works!!!

get minimum 10 hours on it before you made a final call, that engine double oils itself until then, at that time if you're trimmed out optimum (not necessarily maximum trim) and running 5000 rpms at full throttle that isn't ideal, a lugging big bore 2 stroke is potentially as harmful as over revving one, some boat companies specify props with a particular outboard, don't think alumacraft is one of them
