Just wanted to take a minute and let you all know how much the family appreciates your prayers, thoughts, and donations that were and continue to be sent. The effort by you all during this time has been a true testament to how people pull together to help others. It really means a lot to the family that you all cared enough to do such things.

I apologize for not keeping in better contact with what was going on, but we had a lot going on. Most all the areas I was in didn’t even have cell phone service.

Here are the full details as I know them.

My grandmother died at 12:30 pm on 7 Feb from a brain aneurism. She was 83 years old. She had collapsed while in town on the way to grocery shop. She was unconscious when an ambulance rushed her to the hospital in Hot Springs, AR. She was in a coma and was not expected to survive. She was on life support, and her wishes were not to be kept alive on life support. So at 12:30 p.m. on Tues the doctor came in to remove life support. She was unable to breathe on her own and passed away without pain as she was given a morphine shot before life support was removed.

My only two nephews were killed in a car accident on 5 Feb in a head on crash with another car. The oldest was 13 and the youngest was 12 years old. The other car was at fault and it also killed their other grandmother on their dad’s side of the family in the crash as well as the other two persons in the oncoming car. There were 5 deaths total in that crash, and 3 others injured with my nephews car. The other car crossed the centerline and was also speeding. The occupants were also killed in the crash. They had no insurance and the grandmother of the boys had insurance but not a lot.

My great uncle also died on 8 Feb. He died of Lung Cancer at the age of 85, and passed away at home. He was a WWII Army Vet.

For all those who have sent donations, my sister will be sending out thank you cards to all of you. If you made the donation anonymous then please accept my family and I our deepest heartfelt appreciation for your kind offer. It really means a lot and has been a blessing. All donations go to funding the balance of the funeral cost, hospital bills, and anything left over goes to the family.
