Forum format change, discussion and future poll.

Hi all. We've used the new Missouri forum format for a couple weeks now. We've received a lot of feedback, both good and bad. What I'd like to do now is have a poll, with the poll we will see what our MO members really want for a format, and I will change it again to what you all vote for.


Although the voting will be anonymous to the public, I will still be able to see who votes for what, and I'll only be counting participating/active MO crappie.com members in the voting. I will do this to prevent anyone from throwing the vote by getting all their buddies or clasmmates involved in the voting their way. It'll be a much more accurate representation of what the MO members really want.


The first step in this process is to determine what we are voting for, the formats. I'll throw out a couple formats here, but I would like feedback and suggestions about additional formats. Post any questions you may have about a MO format change here in this thread too.


I'll try to keep the titles simple in these examples, but note, all these forum names are specific to Missouri:


Option 1

Option 3

3. Stockton/Pomme

This is not the poll yet. Please post additional suggestions for the poll in this thread.

Once all the suggestions are received, maybe in a day or so, I'll make a poll for voting. Thank you all for your participation and for your patience.

I'd vote for the 1st option.
As to the voting, I'd set it up so a person could only vote once, AND, they were a Missouri board member.

Don't vote yet. And yes, they will only be able to vote once. But I'll have to manually check that they are active MO members. I'll have to do that after the poll is done.

Well as I dont have any heartache about this new format, I think its more organized and easier to find what I am looking for this way. However, perhaps a combination of 1 and 2.

Comments are fine here now, but please hold your votes till I create the actual poll. I kinda want to hear about any additional options I should include in a poll. It sucks to have a poll, have a bunch of people vote, and then find out we need an additional poll option.

Its not gonna make alot of difference to me one way or the other. I'm not big on all the seperation but it is what it is. It's a shame some take this stuff so seriously, afterall, it's still just fishing.

I'd kind of like to see a sub-forum called "road trips", where members can check for interest in putting together a trip to other lakes in Mo, or anywhere else.

I'd also like to add an "Ask the Biologist" sub-forum. I don't know if our resident biologist wants anything to do with that, but we could post questions for any trained person to answer.

Why not just use Off Topic for that? Thats what most folks do. You get too many forums and first thing ya know....nobody is paying attention to a lot of things and things will get missed or overlooked..
