Getting ready for fall camp ain't been on the water with the boat since last year. Got to looking at my Mustang Survival Inflatable PFD. Got to looking on my auto inflator and it says to replace in 2011. Got to looking on the spare I keep around and it has an expiration date on it of 12/31/11. I called Mustang and they said that even if it is still green in color that the auto inflator should be replaced every 5 years. I am not going to take any chances so I am going over to BP tomorrow and see if I can find another inflator and replace it.
So my fellow fishermen and women who wear Inflatable PFD's you might want to check the date on your auto inflator I don't know if that might be something that the water patrol would check or not. But knowing my luck I am not going to chance $85.00 to find out. Plus I want the darned thing to work when I need it too!
Better safe than sorry.Thumbs Up
Thanks for the reminder I'll be checking mine today.
FAITH, FAMILY, FRIENDS & FISHING...... hopefully in that order but honestly, not always!
You might check accadmey sports in spfd. they might be a little less. My 2
Thanks, I checked online with them and they didn't show my model in stock! I have to go to Nixa in the morning and I thought I would drop back by there and check them out. I sure hope that there customer service is better than BP was the other day when the wife and I was in there. It seemed like everyone figured Johnny Morris was out of town and it was national goof off day! There were 5 guys behind the counter in the fishing department and they were just standing around talking to each other! I went over and asked where something was and I was told it was somewhere over on such a isle. Normally they take you to it!
I have shopped Accadmey Sports before in Lake Charles, LA when I sell fireworks down there during the Christmas season. I like the customer service they had down at that store. I love their assortment of gun holsters! Hoping that they will have some good grand opening sales.
I would order one online but they only have a 5 year shelf life on the refills! And I want to make sure I can get as fresh of one as I can get! They are dated on the package with an expiration date! I may end up calling Mustang back and trying to purchase one.
I found one on Ebay for $24.99 bid plus a $5.20 shipping but it has a 12/31/11 expiration date!
Go jump in the pool and see if it works. Just wanting to know if the EX date is good. LOL.
We only sell the Best. Ranger, Xpress, Yamaha, Suzuki, Tohatsu.
Well don't plan on buying your replacement refill from Bass Pro! Yeah they had them on the shelf today! Full price, $79.99 each with a expiration date of 12/31/11!!!!
Glad you posted this.....I need to check the date on mine.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.
